Perched on the Pacific Coast and surrounded by mountains, lies the cosmopolitan, yet outdoorsy city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Vancouver is a great place to explore any time of year (but expect rain). However I would recommend visiting from June to September when life moves outside! You will be able to make the most of your time at the beach, hiking trails, and enjoy the outdoor restaurants and breweries.
Alaska was always a bucket-list destination for us. This gorgeous state offers an array of adventures with its rugged mountains, glaciers, and an abundance of wildlife. If you’re going to spend the time getting here, we recommend a minimum of a week’s stay. We planned an 11-day getaway through the ‘Last Frontier’ and it continues to be one of our most asked about destinations! Before booking your trip, we have a few tips for you to consider.
Sometimes we just NEED to get away, even if just for a 4-day weekend. Montreal was always someplace relatively close (8 hours drive from my home), but far away enough to keep pushing off the trip. One Friday, I was invited to tag along on an already planned trip for that weekend (Jenny did the planning). My travel bug was acting up again, so I spontaneously agreed and left that afternoon.
This was an interesting one because we were camping for 9 days straight and needed to pack all of our clothes and essential camping gear in 1 checked bag each. Then, when we landed we shopped at the Dollar Store, Walmart and Goodwill for all items we couldn’t bring with us. Without further ado, here…
Let me start off by saying that this was the biggest adventure we had planned yet! While we love the outdoors, camping for 10 days straight in another country seemed like a monumental task. However, it is TOTALLY do-able, as long as you’re prepared.
