Cinque Terre, or five towns, is the name given to the collective group of fishing villages located along the coast of the Italian Riviera. Although there isn’t a lot here in terms of “famous sights to see”, Cinque Terre itself is the main attraction! The area is meant to be enjoyed leisurely, while hopping from one village to the next. It’s famous for the hiking trails that connect the villages with each other, or you can take the ferry or train that connects the towns. Savor the pasta, pesto, focaccia, and gelato or spend your day basking in the sun next to the crystal clear, blue sea.
How to Spend a Long Weekend in Tennessee
Every year, we try to take a long weekend trip sometime in the fall. We typically choose our destination by cheapest/best flight we can find. Knoxville happened to have VERY cheap flights through AllegiantAir, so our decision was made for us. We would rent a car, check out the foliage in the Smoky Mountains, do a road trip to Nashville and be home in under 4 days.
Visit Venice Like a Local 3 Amazing Days
Venice is like a living piece of art floating on water! It’s a labyrinth of streets, narrow alleyways, and with no roads or cars you must navigate it on foot! It’s a romantic getaway for some, but with increased tourism over the last several years, you can easily fall into many tourist traps with over-priced dining and shopping. I’m not saying you shouldn’t come to Venice, I’ve loved both of my visits here, but if you’re planning a trip, you should be prepared in advance with some tips and tricks on how to have a fabulous trip and feel like a local, while sticking to a budget!
One Amazing Week in Iceland in January (with no car!)
Iceland wasn’t really on my radar of possible destinations until one day out of the blue, my brother messaged me with, “Hey, cheap flights to Iceland in January. Wanna go?” It was the end of December, I had never traveled with him before, and nothing was booked, but I decided to go for it. It ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
How to Experience the Best of Italy and Croatia in 10 Days
Croatia has been on our bucket list for some time, but we didn’t realize how much cheaper it would be if we flew to Milan first (note: your mileage may vary depending on flight prices at the time of booking). This itinerary starts with 4 days in Italy, making Milan our home-base and taking day trips, and then heads over to Croatia for the remainder of the trip.
The Best of Vancouver in 4 Days
Perched on the Pacific Coast and surrounded by mountains, lies the cosmopolitan, yet outdoorsy city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Vancouver is a great place to explore any time of year (but expect rain). However I would recommend visiting from June to September when life moves outside! You will be able to make the most of your time at the beach, hiking trails, and enjoy the outdoor restaurants and breweries.
Venice in One Day (from Milan)
The romantic city of Venice, built on over 100 islands, is one of Italy’s must-see locations. Unfortunately, the city is sinking, and as sea levels rise, flooding is becoming more and more commonplace. Many believe that Venice will one day be entirely underwater, so we encourage you to go visit while you still have the chance!
Cinque Terre in One Day (from Milan)
Cinque Terre, or five towns, is the name given to the collective group of fishing villages located along the coast of the Italian Riviera. With blue waters and colorful houses, this destination should not be missed! While staying longer is definitely an option, I only had one day to work this into my itinerary, so I did my best!
Traveling through Alaska by Land and Sea
Alaska was always a bucket-list destination for us. This gorgeous state offers an array of adventures with its rugged mountains, glaciers, and an abundance of wildlife. If you’re going to spend the time getting here, we recommend a minimum of a week’s stay. We planned an 11-day getaway through the ‘Last Frontier’ and it continues to be one of our most asked about destinations! Before booking your trip, we have a few tips for you to consider.
How to Spend a 24 Hour Layover in Dublin
After spending a week traveling through Belgium and the Netherlands, my flight back home had a 24 hour layover in Dublin. I decided to use that time to get out and explore the best of what Dublin has to offer!
